Salwa Malhas, ME Group COO Educational Background & Work Experience Holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Maastricht University and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from George Washington University, DC, USA, and he has further participated in several Executive Training Programs provided by Harvard Business School and INSEAD. Over all, he possesses a cumulative practical experience of 20 years, diversified among the fields of Civil Engineering, Real estate developing, Corporate & Project Management, Risk Analysis, Enterprise and Corporate Governance, Compliance; however, most notably, his strategic and leading role as a Chief Executive Officer during the past 12 years. His achievements highlighted his academic and practical skills, which reflected an outstanding performance in all of his various positions during the past years. Mr. Al Soqabi was successful in transforming a pioneering Kuwaiti companies into leading companies operating inside and outside Kuwait, thus encompassing under numerous subsidiaries through both inorganic and organic growths, which have been undertaking several activities at the local, regional and international markets, such as Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States, Turkey, and Hong Kong. Currently, he holds the Group CEO position for Mazaya Holding. Mr. Al Soqabi held several board positions in reputable listed companies such as First Dubai Real Estate, Al Tijaria Commercial Real Estate, Al Enma’ Real Estate (ERESCO), Kuwaiti Manager Co. for Contracting, Baitek Real Estate, and Al Masaken Real Estate. He is currently the Chairman of Mazaya Real Estate Development Co., KSC. Educational Background & Work Experience Eng. SalwaMalhas holds a Bachelor andMaster's degree inCivil Engineering from the JordanUniversity ofScienceandTechnologyandhascompletedcoursesandprogramsofcontinuousexecutiveeducation and development in real estate development, finance and business administration from Harvard University Graduate School of Design in Boston, USA. She also obtained an accredited Certificate in BusinessAdministration from INSEADUniversity, aswell as an accredited certificate from theUniversity of Chicago in critical decisions about business development and enterprise. Eng. Salwa Malhas has more than 28 years of experience in the real estate development sector, developing business models, feasibility studies and corporate business plans, which include objectives, financial flow schedules, profitability and company budget, and is thoroughly specialized in building, developing and operatingmedical projects and offering tenders for operating laboratories, pharmacies and commercial centers. She is currently the Group Chief Operating Officer at Al Mazaya Holding Company, where she started her career in the company since January 2004 in the Business Development and Marketing Department. Since then , Malhas has developed, structured, assessed and analyzed the company’s business plan, finding profitable new businesses, supervising its development and growth, participating in bidding projects with the government and the private sector, conducting feasibility studies for various business opportunities, and marketing the company and its projects. In the past , Malhas served for nine years as the General Manager for ACICO Group, listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange , where she sourced, conducted research, and proposed new lands for profitable real estate development projects, while overseeing corporate marketing , supervising these projects and proposing tenders. Prior to that, she served as a Tendering Engineer at Al-Zaben International Company (as a first-grade contractor). She also worked as an assistant university professor in the engineering department at the Jordan University of Science and Technology in the year 1993. In addition, Malhas served as a member of the boards of several real estate and investment companies and is currently theVice-Chairman of the board of directors of the First Dubai Real Estate Development Company, whose capital exceeds 300 million dollars. Engineer Salwa obtained many training certificates from Kuwait University and the American University in Kuwait. She also participated in several training programs for Executives such as the Blue Ocean program offered by INSEAD, the Future ofTechnological Developments and their Impact on Business Sectors, and programs dedicated to corporate identity management, marketing, sales, business and project management.
