Educational Background

Eng. Salwa Malhas holds a Bachelor and Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the Jordan University of Science and Technology and has completed courses and programs of continuous executive education and development in real estate development, finance and business administration from Harvard University Graduate School of Design in Boston, USA. She also obtained an accredited Certificate in Business Administration from INSEAD University, as well as an accredited certificate from the University Chicago in critical decisions about business development and enterprise.

Work Experience

Eng. Salwa Malhas has more than 28 years of experience in the real estate development sector, developing business models, feasibility studies and corporate business plans, which include objectives, financial flow schedules, profitability and company budget, and is thoroughly specialized in building, developing and operating medical projects and offering tenders for operating laboratories, pharmacies and commercial centers.

She is currently the Group Chief Operating Officer at Al Mazaya Holding Company, where she started her career in the company since January 2004 in the Business Development and Marketing Department. Since then , Malhas has developed, structured, assessed and analyzed the company’s business plan, finding profitable new businesses, supervising its development and growth, participating in bidding projects with the government and the private sector, conducting feasibility studies for various business opportunities, and marketing the company and its projects.

In the past , Malhas served for nine years as the General Manager for ACICO Group, a listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange , where she sourced, conducted research, and proposed new lands for profitable real estate development projects, while overseeing corporate marketing , supervising these projects and proposing tenders. Prior to that, she served as a Tendering Engineer at Al-Zaben International Company (as a first-grade contractor).

She also worked as an assistant university professor in the engineering department at the Jordan University of Science and Technology in the year 1993. In addition, Malhas served as a member of the boards of several real estate and investment companies and is currently the Vice-Chairman of the board of directors of the First Dubai Real Estate Development Company, whose capital exceeds 300 million dollars.

Engineer Salwa obtained many training certificates from Kuwait University and the American University in Kuwait. She also participated in several training programs for Executives such as the Blue Ocean program offered by INSEAD, the Future of Technological Developments and their Impact on Business Sectors, and programs dedicated to corporate identity management, marketing, sales, business and project management.
